Ellen DeGeneres House In Thousand Oaks, Calif. For Sale (PHOTOS)

Equestrian Estate Or B&B?

Ellen DeGeneres has just listed -- again -- her 26-acre equestrian ranch in the Hidden Valley area of Thousand Oaks. Price tag: $10.995 million.

DeGeneres and spouse, actress Portia de Rossi, have had an on-again, off-again relationship with this estate, notes real estate blog Zillow. They bought it in 2009 for $8.5 million and then tried to unload it for $16.5 million two years later. They dropped the price to $14.9 million when it didn't sell and eventually took it off the market to wait for a better time. That time appears to be now. The lower price should help too.

The estate was featured in Elle Decor last spring. The property has eight farmhouse-style cabins, two barns, stables, a tennis court and a yoga pavilion. Sounds more like a Bed and Breakfast to us.

In fact, DeGeneres' estate served as a de facto B&B to a group of hardworking firefighters last spring, when the Camarillo Springs wildfire threatened to engulf her exclusive neighborhood. She opened up her home to the emergency responders, giving them food and a place to shower and rest as a thank you for everything they had done.

DeGeneres enjoys buying and fixing up houses. Right after the Elle Decor story ran, she and De Rossi bought a 13-acre estate in Santa Barbara County for $26.5 million. She has also owned homes in Beverly Hills, Malibu, and Montecito as well. We're not sure if she's a serial flipper or if she just enjoys remodeling homes. Yeah, we can think of a few cheaper hobbies.
