Ellen Page Steps Out With Girlfriend Samantha Thomas For The First Time

Ellen Page and girlfriend Samantha Thomas took their love to the red carpet at the Toronto International Film Festival Sunday.

The night marked Page and Thomas' first public event together as a couple. The two, both dressed in black and white, looked happy as they posed for photographers outside the Roy Thomson Hall.

Page came out as gay at a Human Rights Campaign event last year.

“The more time went by, the more something just happened, an Oh my god -- I want to love someone freely and walk down the street and hold my girlfriend’s hand," she told Flare magazine later that year. But the moment she came out was still a nerve-wracking one. "I think I still felt scared about people knowing. I felt awkward around gay people; I felt guilty for not being myself.”
