Giving the people what they want.

Ellen DeGeneres pretty much won the People's Choice Awards last night, taking home the honors for Favorite Humanitarian and Best Daytime TV Host.

In typical Ellen fashion, her acceptance speech blended the comedian's endearing earnestness and sly wit, showing all who watch what a show biz pro truly looks like.

Oh, and she treated the audience to a shirtless pic of Chris Hemsworth as the cherry on top of our PCA sundae.

Fellow funnywoman Melissa McCarthy introduced the award, which honors a celeb for their outstanding philanthropic efforts -- Ellen has reportedly raised more than 50 million dollars for charity.

The honor comes as a package deal with a big chunk of change from Walgreens, which DeGeneres chose to donate to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

“What wonderful things you said," Ellen told McCarthy. "You forgot gorgeous, but that’s OK. This is crazy, I mean, so, so deserved, but this is crazy. I can’t tell you how much this means to me. When I started my show, I set out really to make people happy and make people laugh and to get very, very rich and I certainly didn’t set out to win any of the many, many, many awards I’ve received over the past years. But I have to say, it feels a little strange to accept an award for being nice and generous and kind, which is what we’re all supposed to do as humans."

McCarthy and DeGeneres took this cute pic backstage after the talk show host accepted her awards. "Squad Goals" is right, People's Choice.

We couldn't think of a better (or more hilarious) honoree. Congrats, Ellen!
