Ellie And William Trykush, 9-Month-Old Twins, Can Swim Full Length Of The Pool (VIDEO)

Nine-month-old twins Ellie and William Trykush are fairly normal babies, with one notable exception: The British siblings can swim the entire length of a 25-meter pool unaided.

Although the babies cannot yet walk, they are absolute naturals in the water, the Mirror reports, and are able to swim long distances on their backs without help or flotation devices.

The babies were born in the same year as the London Olympics, and their dad, Vic Trykush, said he would "love to see them at the 2028 Olympics possibly, when they’re 16, doing the open water swim.”

Phil Shaw, founder of London Baby Swim, said that infants are well suited to the water.

"Nine months in a water environment means babies are perfectly prepared to swim from birth," Shaw told MSNBC last year.

Teaching babies to swim was popular in the U.S. in the '70s and the '80s. However, the American Academy of Pediatrics doesn't recommend classes for babies who are younger than 12 months old, ABC News notes.
