Elon Musk Teases Mysterious New Tesla Product

What could it be?

Elon Musk announced on Monday that a new, mystery Tesla product is coming:

No telling what the new product could be.

"We have no additional information to share right now," Tesla spokesperson Khobi Brooklyn emailed The Huffington Post. "I’m happy to send you more details in the coming weeks."

One possibility is that the new product could be the "snake charger" Musk tweeted about back in December:

In Musk's vision of the future, a driverless Tesla car could drive itself back to its owner's garage, park itself and let itself be plugged in by a robotic snake charger. That will give a Tesla-owning human being more time for other stuff, like renting out the back of her Tesla on Airbnb.

Or maybe it'll be the home-powering battery Musk teased back in February.

Tesla's stock price jumped nearly 4 percent after Musk's tweet.

This is not the first time Musk has hyped new products on social media. Back in October, he hinted that the company was about to "unveil the D." A speculative surge in Tesla's stock price followed. The surge vanished shortly thereafter, when the company unveiled the Tesla D, which apparently didn't live up to investor expectations that had been stoked partly by Musk's tweet.

Earlier this month, Musk defended his social-media activities, saying he wasn't using Twitter to pump up Tesla's stock price:
