Pregnant Driving Test: Emma French Gives Birth Moments After Earning License

As if passing your road test isn't nerve-racking enough.

A 20-year-old Scottish woman says she completed her driver's exam while in labor, and then immediately sped off to the hospital to have a baby.

When Emma French, of West Lothian, awoke around 4 a.m. the day of her scheduled driving test to find that her water had broken, she knew that having a baby meant waiting even longer to finally earn her license.

"Everyone was telling me to go to the hospital but I had waited so long for my driving test, I was determined to do it," French said, according to the Mirror.

French was not due for another month. To avoid having the exam postponed, French resisted disclosing her state of labor to the examiner for the 45 minute test's duration, the Daily Record reports.

French not only passed the test, she made it to the hospital in time to give birth to Eva MacFarlane, a baby girl.

"The nurses in the hospital were very confused because I was getting congratulations cards for both my baby and my driving test," French said. "When I told them, they were all in shock. They couldn't believe it."
