Very nice-seeming actress Emma Stone may be the next Cruella de Vil.

The Hollywood Reporter reports that the star is in talks to play the "101 Dalmations" villain in Disney's upcoming "Cruella." The project, said to be an origin story for the character, has a script on the way from "Fifty Shades of Grey" scribe Kelly Marcel.

For those who need a memory jog, Cruella de Vil wants to capture the dalmatians in the original film to, basically, turn them into a fur coat. Soon we may see what kind of life leads a person to this fate.

Playing a veritable devil de Vil would be a departure from many of Stone's sweeter roles, as well as, according to casual celeb hang-out friend Jennifer Lawrence, her actual real life personality.

"I love Emma. She cracks me up; she's so 'theater,'" Lawrence recently told Glamour when asked about her dinner excursion with Stone and Adele. "She's so adorable. Adele and I met, like, a year or so ago. Adele and I are a bit harsher; Emma's never had a bad thought about anybody in her life."

No better way to score those award noms than playing against type!
