Emmy Rossum Teases 'Shameless' Season 5: 'It's Going To Get Worse Before It Gets Better'

Uh-Oh. 'Shameless' To Take A Turn For The Worse In Season 5

Emmy Rossum teased what's next for "Shameless" after Showtime picked up the drama for Season 5. Most of the show's current fourth season has revolved around patriarch Frank Gallagher's (William H. Macy) search for a healthy liver.

When Rossum, who plays eldest sister Fiona Gallagher, appeared on HuffPost Live, she hinted that since there will be a Season 5, Frank will probably get that liver. As for her character, she said, "It's going to get worse before it gets better."

This season, viewers watched as Fiona's life started to come together with a stable job and boyfriend (her boss). But when an affair with her boyfriend's brother and a little bag of cocaine landed her toddler brother Liam in the hospital, Fiona ended up in jail, on probation and with little hope.

"Shameless" airs Sunday at 9 p.m. EDT on Showtime.
