Claire Danes Emmys 2013: 'Homeland' Star Wins Lead Actress In A Drama Series

Claire Danes Does It Again!

Claire Danes has done it again! The star of Showtime's "Homeland," who won this category last year for her portrayal of brilliantly unhinged CIA agent Carrie Mathison, picked up her second Emmy for Best Actress in a Drama at the 2013 Emmys.

This is Danes' third Emmy -- she also won in 2010 in the Miniseries or Movie category for HBO's "Temple Grandin" -- and she was nominated in the same Lead Actress in a Drama category for "My So-Called Life" back in 1995.

"Homeland" Season 2 was met with some critical backlash, but Danes' Carrie Mathison remains one of the most complex characters on TV. "Homeland" Season 3 premieres Sun., Sept. 29 at 9 p.m. ET.

Danes beat out "Scandal" star Kerry Washington, Michelle Dockery from "Downton Abbey," "Bates Motel's" Vera Farmiga, Connie Britton from "Nashville," Elisabeth Moss from "Mad Men" and "House of Cards" star Robin Wright.
