The Emmy award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series went to Julianna Margulies for her role on "The Good Wife." Margulies topped Lizzy Caplan, Claire Danes, Michelle Dockery, Kerry Washington and Robin Wright in the competitive category.

"What a wonderful time for women on television," Margulies said in her speech. She also thanked "The Good Wife" creators Michelle and Robert King and cast members Josh Charles and Christine Baranski.

Margulies had won two other Emmy Awards in her career, for "ER" in 1995 and "The Good Wife" in 2011.
