Welp.

The official Twitter account for the Television Academy had an embarrassing mix-up before the Emmy Awards even started.

While covering the red carpet, someone on the Television Academy’s Twitter account tweeted out a picture of Terrence Howard, incorrectly identifying the “Empire” actor as Cuba Gooding Jr. (the old tweet has since been deleted).

Twitter was quick to call out the account’s careless mix-up:

After most likely getting a few hundred corrections and firing an intern or two, the users behind the account deleted the old tweet and correctly identified Howard on the red carpet in a new tweet.

The move was similar to Total Beauty’s Twitter fail at the Oscars earlier this year, when someone tweeting confused Oprah with Whoopi Goldberg.

The two actors have yet to respond to the Twitter mix-up.
