Known for their otherworldly aesthetic and psychedelic visuals, Australian electronic-duo Empire of the Sun is intent on spreading a positive message with their third album Two Vines. There is a lot of distortion in the world, says Luke Steele (one half of the duo, and also frontman for indie rock band The Sleepy Jackson), and he doesn't want to add to it. "We grew up on John Lennon, The Beach Boys, all that great stuff. It just seems that the blueprint for artists these days is to sing about trash and girls to take off as much of their clothes as legally possible for TV."
