Vogue editor Anna Wintour has been the subject of industry rumors of late, with some buzz building about her impending retirement (which both she and Conde Nast boss Si Newhouse dismiss). But Page Six reports that she, and her magazine, still sit high atop the magazine empire, with Vogue reportedly repeating its feat as Conde Nast's most profitable magazine in 2008:
IT'S another year at the top of Condé Nast for Vogue. Industry sources told Page Six that Anna Wintour's style bible "was the most profitable magazine in the company this year" - a stat that's based on overall earnings. Vogue held the spot last year as well, though one Condé snitch told us, "It would be really hard to determine that number." The data aren't publicly released, but we're told Glamour had the title in 2006.
