Eric Berry Is Afraid Of Horses: Kansas City Chiefs Safety Appears To Suffer From Equinophobia (VIDEO)

WATCH: Eric Berry Is Really Afraid Of Horses

Eric Berry might want to consider changing teams.

A clip from last week's Inside the NFL posted by Kissing Suzy Kolber shows the Kansas City Chiefs safety working hard to avoid Warpaint, the team's horse mascot that trots out during every home game.

"I'll wait 'til the horse pass," Berry says in the clip. "I don't mess with horses, bro. He might come over here and throw a tantrum."

Warning: The video above contains some explicit language.

It appears that Berry suffers from a very real fear of horses, evident in his refusal to step onto the field until Warpaint has moved to a safe distance, Uproxx notes.

According to the Medical Dictionary, an irrational fear of horses is known as equinophobia and is sometimes caused from trauma resulting from a past fall from a horse.

Sufferers of equinophobia experience undue anxiety even when a horse is known to be gentle and well trained. They usually avoid horses entirely rather than risk being kicked, bitten or thrown. They may also fear other hoofed animals such as ponies, donkeys and mules.

Berry isn't the only star who appears to be an equinophobe.

Back in March, Kristen Stewart discussed the difficulty her fear of horses caused while filming "Snow White and the Huntsman." The actress said the phobia stemmed from a riding injury she sustained when he fell off a horse as a child, according to People magazine.
