Erick Erickson Likens DNC To Vagina Monologues In Controversial Tweet

CNN Contributor's Controversial Tweet Raises Eyebrows

Oh, Erick Erickson.

The CNN political contributor, known for sparking controversy, referred to the Democratic Convention as Eve Ensler's famous feminist play "The Vagina Monologues" on Tuesday.

As the convention kicked off its first major night of speeches, Erickson took to Twitter to share his thoughts. "First night of the Vagina Monologues in Charlotte going as expected," Erickson wrote.

It was only a matter of minutes before angry Twitter users made their dissatisfaction known. After Erickson was inundated with angry messages, many of which were filled with profanity, Erickson tweeted an apology.

"My apologies to those offended by my tweet. Wasn't my intention," he wrote. His apology, though, did little to mollify his critics. Some users mockingly asked him to specify which tweet he was referring to, while others quickly dismissed his apology.
