Erin Burnett Confronts Reince Priebus Over CNN Boycott Threat (VIDEO)

WATCH: Erin Burnett Confronts RNC Chairman

Erin Burnett interviewed Reince Priebus on her Tuesday CNN show and confronted the RNC chairman over his threat to boycott CNN and NBC if the networks go on with their plans to air respective documentaries about Hillary Clinton.

The Republican Party grew outraged after NBC and CNN announced upcoming plans for programming about Hillary Clinton. Priebus accused CNN of creating a "cult of personality" surrounding Clinton, and told Burnett that the sun did not "rise and set with CNN and NBC." Most drastic, however, was Priebus' threat that the GOP would not partner with CNN or NBC on any 2016 GOP primary debates if the networks did not cancel their programming plans.

Burnett confronted Priebus with comments Fox News chief Roger Ailes made during the 2008 presidential race, when the Democratic candidates boycotted a debate hosted by the cable network.

"Any candidate for high office of either party who believes he can blacklist any news organization is making a terrible mistake about journalists," Ailes said. "And any candidate of either party who cannot answer direct, simple, even tough questions from any journalist, runs a real risk of losing the voters."

Burnett added, "I don't know what my boss Jeff Zucker would say, but it sounds like he might say exactly what Roger Ailes is saying."
