Eva Chen, Lucky Magazine's new editor in chief, recently opened up about her career path on the magazine's website. She also shared some words of wisdom for professional women in their 20s and 30s.

Chen admitted that before joining the media world, she was on a pre-med track at Johns Hopkins. After she did a summer internship at Harper's Bazaar, she fell in love with writing and the fashion industry, but when she graduated, she found that print magazine jobs were few and far between. So she took a job at a law firm -- a position Chen soon realized wasn't in line with her passions.

Chen said that making the "wrong" decision after graduation was almost more instructive than going right into the industry she would end up in:

On day two at the [law] firm, I realized it wasn't the right fit for me. But -- and this is something I always stress to people in their teens, 20s and 30s -- making a mistake is not a bad thing. It's more instructive to learn what you don't like than just to like everything.

We think that's some pretty solid career advice.
