Evelyn Lozada On The Moment She Said 'Enough Is Enough' To Domestic Abuse

The Moment Evelyn Lozada Said 'Enough Is Enough' To Domestic Abuse

It took a head injury for reality star Evelyn Lozada to see the dangers of her relationship with then-husband Chad "Ochocinco" Johnson.

"When I had six stitches on my forehead -- that was when I was like, 'enough is enough,'" she told HuffPost Live in a Thursday conversation. "This is not worth it. I would never want my daughter to be in a relationship like that."

The "Livin' Lozada" star divorced Johnson in 2012 after the NFL receiver was arrested for domestic violence. Happily engaged today to Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Carl Crawford, Lozada hopes to let other women know that if she can escape an abusive relationship, "any other woman can."

"I think la lot of the times, domestic violence victims [are] so torn down and you feel like 'well, I'm not going to be able to find anyone better,' or 'My life is over,'" she explained, "...I want women to be strong and I want for them to look at me [and think] 'Wow, she did it. She was able to get out of that relationship."

"If I can inspire one to leave that toxic relationship," she added, "then I feel like I've done something great."

"Livin' Lozada" premieres on OWN tomorrow, July 11, at 9 PM EST.
