Even Thompson's Supporters Predict Bloomberg Win

According to a Marist poll, New Yorkers are predicting a Bloomberg win -- a whopping 79 percent think there will be a third term for the Mayor whether they vote for him or not.

Mayor Bloomberg is now 16 percentage points ahead of Comptroller Bill Thompson, up from 9 percentage points last month, showing Bloomberg's support to be steady while Thompson's is wavering.

Support among Democrats has taken a notable shift towards Bloomberg. While 47 percent back the Independent incumbent, only 39 percent are for Thompson. Republicans continue to support Bloomberg; likely non-enrolled voters, however, are moving towards Thompson.

Citywide, Bloomberg has a 9 percentage point lead among registered voters, 47 percent compared to Thompson's 38 percent.
