Do You Have Evolutionary Eyes?

With evolutionary eyes, once and for all -- we can see what we can be: one great big humanity! This is life at its best, lest we create it, or lose the rest.

As we move through 2012, many people are experiencing heightened uncertainty and fear that is exacerbated by doom-and-gloom scenarios, the increase of natural disasters, ongoing economic instability, global warming, political unrest and more.

Thank goodness great visionary leaders like Barbara Marx Hubbard abound. She's been online, in the news, publishing books, facilitating seminars and hanging out with luminaries and visionaries. Oh, and get this, in 1984 she was one of the first women ever nominated for the vice presidency of the United States. Hubbard is recognized as a social innovator, evolutionary thinker and is cofounder and chairperson of the Foundation for Conscious Evolution. She is also the ambassador for the Birth 2012 Campaign for the conscious evolution movement, which she defines as "a shift from evolution by chance towards evolution by choice."

An email in my in box caught my attention recently. It was from Dianne Collins, author of Do You QuantumThink? She quoted the famous beginning of Charles Dickens' classic novel, A Tale of Two Cities, "It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness ... It was the season of Light, it was the season of Darkness, it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair, we had everything before us, we had nothing before us..."

Yet it was Dianne's commentary that got my attention when she said:

In modern times, it feels like "A Tale of Two Realities," One where the so-called "news" headlines are enough to make your head spin, and the other, the growing number of amazing people collaborating to bring about "the great shift" to a new consciousness and an unprecedented, inspired reality. We are truly becoming the culture of wake-ups.

This more hopeful vision reflects a new birth that is co-creative. It offers an opportunity to collectively make a planetary shift to the emergence of a new co-creative world.

We are at turning point, entering what Hubbard calls the first age of conscious evolution. Why? Because we know we can affect our evolution by the choices we make -- from the food we eat, the relationships we create to the cars we drive and the communities we build.

I had the great pleasure of interviewing Barbara Marx Hubbard recently on the Sterling Spin Radio Show. I learned something that has made a deep impression and is the best GPS for the Soul indicator I have discovered to date. Hubbard said we are at a change point and can develop "evolutionary eyes." That means we can choose to see with eyes that look for the best in ourselves and others. I know I have been judgmental and competitive in the past, both fear-based and desirous of succeeding, oftentimes at the expense of others. Now is the time to really ascertain our intentions and ask, "What have I been focusing on? Where have I been putting my attention?

With evolutionary eyes, once and for all -- we can see what we can be: one great big humanity! This is life at its best, lest we create it, or lose the rest.
