After years of struggling with high costs, Chicago's convention business has turned around in recent months, with three major new expos coming to the city.
Nearby Rosemont, the village located one "L" stop from O'Hare Airport, is doing pretty well for conventions too. Especially the racy kind: after hosting the National Cougar Convention in late June, the town is bracing for the adult entertainment industry's Exxxtacy Show 2010 later this month.
Dozens of adult film stars will be appearing at the convention, as will such women as Joslyn James, Melissa Smith, and January Gessert. Those women made tabloid headlines this year for reportedly being the mistresses of Tiger Woods, Jesse James and Reggie Bush, respectively.
According to the convention's website, "Exxxtacy 2010 promises to be one of the premier events in the adult entertainment world." It will feature "Adult Entertainers making appearances, signing autographs, and taking pictures, as well as the most recognized companies in the business selling and displaying their merchandise."
Presented by New York-based Taboo Productions, Exxxtacy 2010 will run from July 16-18. The shows begin at 1pm on Friday and Saturday, and -- for those who need their adult entertainment before noon -- at 11am on Sunday.
The expo is open to the public; tickets are $40 for single-day passes or $60 for the entire weekend.
