This year's midterm elections promise to be both important and exciting. Majorities in both the House and Senate are up for grabs. Issues including the war in Afghanistan, financial reform, and gay marriage legislation are at stake. The outcomes of these House and Senate races will undoubtedly affect the 2012 presidential election.

Naturally, we want YOU to get involved. After the success of Off The Bus in 2008, we want to continue our tradition of hard-hitting, on-the-ground coverage in 2010 by inviting citizen journalists in several states to cover their House and Senate races.

Here at the Huffington Post, we believe that when citizens take media coverage into their own hands -- essentially acting as a grassroots press corps -- candidates can be held accountable in new ways. After all, constituents living in the congressional districts are most aware of the local issues at stake in their cities, states and towns. We want to empower you to bring those issues to national prominence.

SIGN UP BELOW and apply to become a citizen journalist in your particular state. We want you to join our team, follow your local member of congress and get involved in this exciting election!
