Facebook To Launch China Site With Baidu, Says Sohu

It looks like Facebook might finally make it to China--though it doesn't mean that China would be joining Facebook. reports that Facebook is in talks with Baidu Inc. to create a social networking service in China, but the service will not be integrated with the rest of the world's Facebook. Facebook has been talking with different parties about how they might get into the Chinese market, according to the source, though nothing is final yet.

Facebook's Mark Zuckerberg has held meetings with Baidu CEO Robin Li, as well as with companies China Mobile Ltd. and Sina Corp during a trip to the country in December 2010.

"We are currently studying and learning about China, as part of evaluating any possible approaches that could benefit our users, developers and advertisers," Facebook told Bloomberg in an email.

Facebook is currently blocked in China, along with social networking site Twitter, and a several other US sites.
