Your profile's vanity shots are about to get the treatment you always wanted for them.
Facebook announced on March 22 that it's updating its photo viewer once again, this time souping it up so that photos will automatically be displayed in the highest resolution possible (2,048 x 2,048, according to The Verge) and up to four times bigger than before.
Fullscreen viewing of photos will also be available, but, unfortunately, only to those using the latest version of Firefox or Chrome, ZDNet pointed out.
All you have to do to view a photo in all of its high-res, fullscreen glory is click the arrows located in its upper right-hand corner.

According to TechCrunch, Facebook "improved the sRGB color profile of photos so that colors appear more vivid and faithful without loading slower." Good thing, too -- with an average of 250 million images uploaded each day, we can't imagine how slowly they'd load if Facebook engineers hadn't made any tweaks.
Just last month, the social network reworked its pop-out lightbox photo viewer by shifting the caption, comments, and advertisements to the right of pictures.
