Facebook Places is the latest "check-in" service, announced yesterday by the Internet giant. It comes on the heels of Foursquare and Gowalla, two of the most prominent platforms who are also partnering with Facebook. Early reviews of the new feature have noted marked similarities and glaring differences with Foursquare (on the former count, Facebook's logo literally depicts the number four in a square).
