Faith Inspires: Interfaith Encounter Association

Editor's note: Every week, HuffPost Religion shines a spotlight on religious people doing good work in their communities. This week's Faith Inspires highlights the Interfaith Encounter Association. Like last week's Faith Inspires organization, the IEA works in Israel to unite leaders from diverse religious backgrounds. The group is a-political and all-inclusive, running a wide array of community building projects -- from study groups for women to the hand-crafted wares sold through Oil for Peace initiative -- with the goal of bringing together Jews, Muslims, Christians, Druze and Baha'is living in Israel, the surrounding Palestinian territories and the greater Middle East.

What motivates the Interfaith Encounter Association?

We believe that, rather than being the cause of the problem, religion can and should be a source of solution for conflicts that exist in the Middle East and beyond.

HuffPost Religion applauds the good works of the IEA. You can follow the organization on Facebook and YouTube.

Now, we want to hear from you! Who's making a positive impact in your community? Let us know by sending an e-mail to or tweeting to @huffpostrelig with the hashtag #faithinspires.
