Fake Psy At Cannes: 'Gangnam Style' Singer's Doppelganger, Denis Carre, Dupes Everyone (PHOTO)

LOOK: This Is Not Psy

South Korean singer Psy made a splash at the Cannes Film Festival this week -- or at least his doppelganger did.

A "fake" Psy was spotted at the annual event and managed to fool everyone from Naomie Harris to Adrien Brody.

As The New York Post notes, the Psy look-alike kept up the act as he "partied with stars, scooped up swag, danced on a French TV show and even signed a deal to be honored at a gala in Monaco," until the real Psy took to Twitter to dispel the rumors.

The "Skyfall" actress tweeted a photo with the doppelganger, though she later acknowledged that the man she had identified as Psy was, in fact, an impostor.

So who is this fake Psy?

France's The Local says the impersonator is 34-year-old Denis Carre, who hails from a rural part of France.

This isn't the first time Carre has duped fans by posing as the "Gangnam Style" singer.

In a February interview with French-language newspaper La Montagne, Carre explained that it all started when he got mobbed by Psy fans at a club in Dublin last September. At his family's suggestion, Carre decided to take advantage of the striking resemblance and began making appearances at venues across Europe, often getting paid to pose as the South Korean pop star.

However, Carre assured the publication that he means no harm by his masquerade.

"I know that my success is due to that of someone else," he said. "All of this amuses me."
