Dance, dance, Fall Out Boy fans: the band will release its new album, the first Fall Out Boy record since 2008, one month earlier. "Save Rock and Roll" will now be available for purchase on April 15. The disc was originally set for release on May 6.
"So when we got this all rolling we didn’t expect it to be so crazy," Fall Out Boy wrote on its website. "But we weren’t kidding when we said we had the album done -- so why wait? It means the world to us the way you have welcomed us back. 'Save Rock and Roll' now out early, April 15/16 worldwide."
"When we were kids the only thing that got us through most days was music. It's why we started Fall Out Boy in the first place," Fall Out Boy wrote at the time. "This isn't a reunion because we never broke up. We needed to plug back in and make some music that matters to us. The future of Fall Out Boy starts now. Save rock and roll ..."
That same day, Fall Out Boy released a new single, "My Songs Know What You Did In the Dark (Light Em Up)."

The years off also seem to have boosted the band's appreciation for their fans. When they weren't repeatedly asking the crowd to take a step back to keep from squishing those at the front, their entire stage banter consisted of Stump and Wentz showering the crowd with compliments and repeating how damn happy they were to be performing once again. The mood turned saccharine when Wentz implored the crowd to just remember "how perfect this moment is and how perfect you are right now," before launching into their biggest hit, "Sugar, We're Going Down."
