Familial Tensions Are Thick In The 'Queen Sugar' Season 2 Trailer

You may want to sit down.

The Season 2 trailer of “Queen Sugar” is here and you’ve probably never felt so happy to hear the words ‘sugar cane farm.’ But this trailer will have you feenin’ for the return of weekly doses of Bordelon family drama.

In the trailer, tensions run amuck among the three Bordelon siblings as they navigate their sister’s role as the first black woman in Louisiana to own a mill. In the opening scenes, the family is seen engaging in prayer and paying respects to their late elder and namesake Shawn Bordelon. 

The series, which was bestowed upon us by the minds of Ava DuVernay and Oprah Winfrey, was confirmed for a second season over a month before its national television premiere in September. It stars Rutina Wesley, Charley Dawn-Lyen Gardner and Kofi Siriboe.
