Fan Theory Suggests 'Breaking Bad' And 'Walking Dead' Are Connected

"Walking Bad"?

Here’s a friendly reminder: Don’t do drugs, kids. It could lead to a zombie apocalypse.

A fan theory that’s been around for a while suggests “Breaking Bad” is actually a prequel to “The Walking Dead,” and now Netflix has given us a new video linking it all together.

According to the theory, Walter White may have inadvertently started the zombie apocalypse with his Blue Sky meth. (Or, at the very least, the two show universes are connected.)

There’s no denying that a lot of “Breaking Bad” Easter eggs show up in “The Walking Dead,” as the video above illustrates. Blue Sky meth appears in one “Walking Dead” episode, there’s a possible reference to Jesse Pinkman, and Glenn drives a car that looks like the one Walter White gave his son. And Netflix doesn’t even cover this, but the Governor in “The Walking Dead” also mentions someone named “Heisenberg.” Sound familiar?

Sure, both shows come from AMC, so writers could just be making references for fun. Or, perhaps, “The Walking Dead” is the most elaborate anti-drug PSA ever made.

“The Walking Dead” airs Sunday at 9 p.m. ET on AMC.
