A Day In The Life Of A Fashion Week Hairstylist

A Day In The Life Of A Fashion Week Hairstylist

Supermodels, designers and Anna Wintour steal the spotlight during Fashion Week, and with good reason. But as a beauty editor, I am more fascinated by the folks who make a runway show look spectacular, like the hairstylists.

Guido Palau (yep, that's his real name) is the man behind the hairdos we've seen on the catwalks at Marc Jacobs, Valentino, Alexander Wang, Céline and Calvin Klein, just to name a few. Having sharpened his skills since he first gained notoriety styling the supermodels in George Michael's "Freedom" music video, Guido's portfolio proves that he is a master of classic glamour, as well as a purveyor of unconventional beauty.

Accolades aside, Guido is a hard-working hairstylist and Redken creative consultant who loves jamming to Beyoncé and has discovered the secret to thriving. Though, he can tell it better than I can.

Here's a glimpse into what occurred on Guido's biggest day during New York Fashion Week Spring 2015:
