This New York Fashion Week has been full of monochromatic looks at many of the big designer shows, so when we spotted a print on Derek Lam's spring 2014 runway, we were thrilled.
Though the designer delivered a slew of great looks (highlights include a denim jacket, a flirty yellow midi skirt and dresses with fringe detail), the standout pieces were all in a graphic gingham print. Lam used the print in the first few outfits that came down the catwalk and our favorite was a black rendition that featured a gingham turban and dress. Though black isn't a traditional spring color, the pattern screams spring so the pairing works. Forget white, all we want to wear when it heats up is black prints.
