Rope Braid Ponytails At Public School's Spring 2016 Show

Get the look: Pull hair into a ponytail and secure tightly with an elastic tie wrapped three times around the base of the pony to help set it away from head. Using a coin-size amount of Aveda Smooth Infusion Nourishing Style Creme in the palm of the hands, smooth over the pony from elastic to ends. Take a small section of hair from under the pony to wrap hair around the base, hiding the elastic and securing with pins. Divide the ponytail into two even sections. Begin to tightly twist both sections clockwise to the end. Secure the end with an elastic. Set your rope braid ponytail with a little styling cream and hair spray to eliminate flyaways.

Get the look: Spritz completely dry hair with a texturizing spray like Eufora Sea Spritz. Next, pull hair back off the face (tighter on the sides) and put in a ponytail at the base of the neck. Using fingers, rake through the top of the head to create separation and texture throughout. Tie a knot with the ponytail and tighten it to desired size. Pin into place. You can leave some ends out or tuck them under the knot.

Using a round brush, blow dry the front section of hair smooth, leaving natural movement in the ends and hair at the back. Next, gather hair loosely behind the shoulder, keeping tension light around the ears. Tie in a loose knot at the nape. Split "pony" into two again, and tie another knot, using a black elastic to secure. Once the knot is secured, separate with fingers while using pins to set pieces of hair where desired. Finish with a blast of hairspray.

Get the look: Blow dry clean hair back and away from the face, creating no volume. Apply Davines More Inside This Is A Volume Boosting Mousse from root to tip. Create a low ponytail at the nape of the neck, ensuring the shape is sleek and flat to the head. Secure tightly with an elastic. Reapply mousse to tail for maximum control. Using an elastic string, roll the top section of the tail into a loop over top of the pony, then secure by wrapping the string around the center of the loop, where it meets the pony. Now left with the bottom half of the tail hanging loose, roll this section of the hair up and into itself, securing to original ponytail base with the elastic. Finish with medium hold hairspray keep flyaways at bay and hair mist for a clean and structured look.

Get the look: Start by applying Davines More Inside This Is A Dry Texturizer and More Essential VOLU Mist to clean hair for a voluminous, loose texture. Gather all the hair and create a loose ponytail above the nape of the neck. Wrap the ponytail into a loose bun. For added volume at the top of the head, divide the hair into horizontal sections across the head and place long pins along these channels. Once the texture has been set, remove the pins and brush out the hair. Finish with hair mist for shine.
