'Fast & Furious 7' To Resume Production March 31 Following Delay

'Fast & Furious 7' To Rev Up Production Again This Month

Production on "Fast & Furious 7" came to a halt in December immediately following Paul Walker's untimely death, but Universal Pictures is now revving up to resume filming. The studio confirmed to E! News that shooting will pick up March 31 in Atlanta, where principal photography began when the production first launched back in September.

Director James Wan has yet to say exactly how Walker's character, Brian O'Conner, will exit the series. The Hollywood Reporter revealed in January that the movie will use existing footage Walker shot before his death, with screenwriter Chris Morgan redrafting the script to "retire" Walker's character.

Along the way, "Fast & Furious 7" actors have noted the sentimental nature of returning to their film without one of its lead stars. Vin Diesel posted a photo to Facebook on Monday along with a caption about the "added purpose" that comes with finishing the movie.

"Fast & Furious 7" was originally slated to hit theaters on July 11, 2014, but will now open on April 10, 2015.
