'Fast & Furious 7' Moves Release Date To April 10, 2015

Nearly three weeks after Universal announced that production had been shutdown on "Fast and Furious 7" following the death of franchise co-star Paul Walker, Vin Diesel revealed the film would shift release dates via Facebook. "Fast 7" will now arrive in theaters on April 10, 2015 instead of July 11, 2014.

After Walker's death on Nov. 30, however, Universal put an indefinite halt on the sequel's production.

“Right now, all of us at Universal are dedicated to providing support to Paul's immediate family and our extended 'Fast & Furious' family of cast, crew and filmmakers," a representative for Universal said in a statement on Dec. 4. "At this time we feel it is our responsibility to shut down production on 'Fast & Furious 7' for a period of time so we can assess all options available to move forward with the franchise."

No word yet on how the series will handle Walker's death; he played Brian O"Conner in the five of the six "Fast and Furious" films to date, and had a significant role in the seventh film.
