Father's Day In D.C. Food Specials Include Bacon And Beer Brunch, Scotch Tasting

Chocolate, Bacon & Beer Brunch

WASHINGTON -- If your dad is anything like mine, he probably wants nothing more for Father's Day than to spend time together (and please, no more coffee mugs and ties!).

Unfortunately the Nationals are away this weekend but you can always gather the whole family at a Nats-loving sports bar and watch the game with DC Brau in hand. Orioles fan? The Birds play the Red Sox Sunday at Camden Yards.

If the rain clears up, there are also ample hiking trails within a short drive of the District. A few nearby options: the Billy Goat Trail at Great Falls, Old Rag at Shenandoah National Park and the C&O Canal (anyone up for a 31-mile day hike?).

There's also D.C. Jazz Festival (through Saturday), a June 15 D.C. United vs. Toronto FC game and a wine and cigar pairing event at Keswick Vineyards.

Just want to get together for a family meal? Here are a few suggestions to get you started:
