While there are conflicting reports about Farrah Fawcett's current cancer battle, people close to the seriously sick actress are extremely upset with Redmond O'Neal, her son with former longtime lover Ryan O'Neal. "Ryan went ballistic," a close Fawcett and O'Neal associate said Monday, referring to the news their son was arrested Friday on suspicion of possession of heroin while visiting a friend in prison. The senior O'Neal reportedly refused to cough up the $25,000 bail to release Redmond -- even in the face of his former partner's life-threatening illness. Both O'Neals were arrested last September on suspicion of meth possession after a police raid on their home in Malibu, Calif. Redmond pleaded not guilty to drug charges last month, while Ryan was sentenced to an 18-month drug program. While Fawcett's camp revealed her cancer has now spread to her liver, Craig Nevius, the producer of a documentary about her cancer battle, insists the 62-year-old actress is "not on death's door". 1
"It's never had anything to do with stem cells," or alternative treatments such as shark cartilage, coffee enemas or unproven "detoxification" diets, Nevius said.
