Has there ever been a moment in your business when you've found yourself stuck between a rock and a hard place, struggling to make the right decision?

After interviewing entrepreneurs all over the world, I've found one common denominator that sets the successful apart from the struggling: the ability to conquer fear.

Fear is the emotion you feel when faced with a tough decision, that little voice inside your head that tells you all the reasons why you shouldn't go after your dreams.

So how can fear be your best friend?

It's simpler than you may think.

Fear is an indicator that you're about to do something outside your comfort zone. More often than not, the fear that you feel is an indicator that you're about to grow.

When you relentlessly pursue things that you fear, both you and your business will be in a constant state of growth.

It's no different than working out a muscle -- the more you work at it, the stronger it will become. The more you go toward your fear, the easier it becomes and the faster you grow.

My goal is for you to "friend your fear" (as my good friend, Andy Zitzmann, says) and leverage it to create momentum in your life and business.

So how do you turn fear into your new best friend?

Step 1: Acknowledge Your Fear

Once you feel or hear that little voice inside your head, I want you to stop the negative mind chatter and acknowledge the presence of your new best friend.

Accept that it's there, and know that it can lead you to a momentous breakthrough.

Step 2: Think of Your Moment on Fire

A "moment on fire" is a time in your life when you looked fear in the face, then took action, anyway.

It's a moment when you did something you've never done before, a moment where you achieved greatness in your life or business.

I experienced this when my business coach pushed me into doing a live event for my business.

She painted a vivid picture of how a live event would grow my brand, build community, and grow revenues by attracting ideal clients.

It all sounded so amazing -- until that little voice in my head started talking up a negative storm.

"What if nobody attends the event and there are empty seats? What are you going to talk about for eight hours straight? What if nobody decides to buy your coaching program, and you lose thousands of dollars putting on the event?"

It was at that very moment that I first acknowledged fear and reframed it by thinking of my "moment on fire."

I quickly shifted my focus and thought about a time in my life when I was incredibly confident and empowered, and I knew that I could do anything I put my mind to.

I thought about the time that I was inaugurated into the Football Hall of Fame for High School Athletes. I pictured the athletic director handing me the plaque while my parents, my coaches, and others stood in awe.

I relived the emotion that gave me goose bumps all over my body.

For me, receiving that award was proof that I could do anything I put my mind to. Everyone around me told me when I first played that I would never be a varsity starter. Through relentless determination, I achieved greatness in football. I proved that as long as I believed in myself, I could succeed.

Step 3: Take Massive Action

Success loves speed, and so does friending your fear.

Once you've acknowledged your fear and thought about your "moment on fire," you're ready to take relentless, massive action.

Make a fast decision, then make it right with your actions. Don't give yourself a second to get out of that state -- go straight toward it because you'll be happy you did. It's this energized massive action that will lead you to a major accomplishment in your life and business.

Friending your fear is as simple as acknowledging your fear, drawing energy from past positive experiences, and taking massive action to conquer fear and grow to the next level. As you continue to leverage these three simple steps, you'll find that it becomes easier each time. You'll find that you're breaking through glass ceilings and limiting beliefs, two at a time.

You'll find that you're living a life on fire with an abundance of happiness that others around you can only dream about. Once you experience this momentous growth in your life and business, you'll be calling fear your new best friend, too.
