Stephen Sondheim’s classic musical, “Into The Woods”, first opened on Broadway in 1987. Fiasco Theater company and Center Theatre group leads us back into the woods at the beautiful Ahmanson Theater in Downtown Los Angeles. “Unanimously praised and extended twice at Roundabout’s Laura Pels Theater, the Tony Award®-winning musical classic by Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine has been mounted with boundless imagination. Revival is not the correct word to describe this production. Re-imagination is more appropriate. Noah Brody and Ben Steinfeld’s direction encompasses the magic and wonderment of the show’s fairy tale theme. Beautiful lighting, set, and costume design join forces with the monumental talent of the cast to blow audiences away. Not only is the cast flawless in vocal and acting abilities, many of the cast members provide orchestration throughout the show.
Into the Woods' ensemble features Anthony Chatmon II (Lucinda, Wolf, Cinderella's Prince), Eleasha Gamble (Baker's Wife), Evan Harrington (Baker), Lisa Helmi Johanson (Little Red Ridinghood, Rapunzel), Bonne Kramer (Cinderella's Stepmother, Jack's Mother), Patrick Mulryan (Jack, Steward), Darick Pead (Milky White, Florinda, Rapunzel's Prince), Fred Rose (Mysterious Man), Stephanie Umoh (Witch), and Laurie Veldheer (Cinderella, Granny). Joshua Archer, Sean Peter Forte, Javier Ignacio, Kate Moore and Alanna Saunders complete the ensemble.
