Big news for "Fifty Shades of Grey" fans. The upcoming film adaptation of the wildly popular novel is reportedly staying in line with its scandalous roots. In an interview with the UK's The Sunday Times, screenwriter Kelly Marcel spoke about the amount of sex that will be in the movie and the rating it is set to receive.

“Well, there is going to be a lot of sex in the film,” Marcel told the publication. “It will be rated NC-17.” Marcel added that "Fifty Shades of Grey" is "100% going there” with the boundary-pushing nature of the novel.

Marcel was tapped in October to pen the script for the adaptation of E.L. James' "Fifty Shades of Grey." The UK-born Marcel previously worked on the FOX show "Terra Nova" and wrote the script for the upcoming "Saving Mr. Banks," starring Tom Hanks.

A Twitter exchange with James proved that Marcel has little problem getting into the "Fifty Shades" mood.

"Fifty Shades" has been the subject of various casting rumors for months. The latest actress tied to the film is "Don't Trust The B---- In Apartment 23" actress Krysten Ritter. Ritter did little to quiet the rumors when she tweeted at a fan, saying that she "would be down" for the role of Anastasia Steele.

In other "Fifty Shades of Grey" news, the book is also being adapted for the musical stage. "50 Shades! The Musical" hits New York’s Gramercy Theater for two nights this week.
