What School Looks Like Around The World During COVID-19

Whether students are learning virtually or in the classroom, school during the pandemic looks quite different for everyone.

Kids around the world are going to school under very different circumstances during the COVID-19 pandemic. Many schools have reopened with varying degrees of mitigation depending on government guidance, while others haven’t reopened at all but instead implemented distance learning. According to the Dutch government, children aged 12 and under do not have to stay 1.5 meters away from other children, but all other hygiene rules apply to children. Teenagers ages 13 to 17 do not have to stay 1.5 meters apart. At secondary schools, this rule applies to all pupils, regardless of their age. At secondary vocational education and higher education institutions, all students must stay 1.5 meters apart regardless of their age.
