A new singing group filled with famous names and legendary voices has officially been formed. Martha Wash, Evelyn "Champagne" King and Linda Clifford are The First Ladies of Disco. All of these amazing vocalists got their start in Disco. Martha Wash, of C&C Music Factory and Black Box fame, started out singing backup for Disco legend Sylvester, as half of the dynamic singing duo, Two Tons of Fun. Evelyn "Champagne" King's storied career also began in the Disco era with her smash hit "Shame" and Linda Clifford's "If My Friends Could See Me Now" and "Runaway Love" are nearly a requirement for any Disco collection worth its salt. The First Ladies of Disco was formed after originally being inspired by author James Arena's tribute book "First Ladies of Disco: 32 Stars Discuss the Era and Their Singing Careers" and they have just released their first single entitled "Show Some Love."
