FIT is New York's best-known college for fashion, design, art and communication. FIT is not only a college, as it also features an exhibition space -- the museum at FIT -- that regularly hosts exhibitions on fashion or more technical topics like textiles, design or various personalities. FIT is internationally recognized for its ability to train individuals that will become part of the world of fashion, design and art. You may get to know FIT by scheduling a visit to have a closer look at campus life. The college's credibility is extremely high with plenty of foreign students enrolled.
Today at the museum at FIT, I will be giving a lecture on the history of Vogue Italia, discussing how it is possible for a fashion magazine to become "the fashion and trends magazine", and to switch from the written, more formal language, to web language on the site. I will talk about the initiatives carried out with the magazine but also on the site, and I will not forget to talk about the creation of a community through the daily exchanges between the editor-in-chief and the readers.

Join legendary Franca Sozzani, the editorial director of Condé Nast Italy and editor-in-chief of Vogue Italia, l'Uomo Vogue, and Vogue Gioiello for a discussion about her impressive career. One of the world's most influential people in fashion, Sozzani spearheaded the lauded website vogue.it. In 2011, the United Nations named her Goodwill Ambassador for "Fashion 4 Development," and on March 14, 2012, French president Nicolas Sarkozy named Franca Sozzani Chevalier of the Legion of Honor.
The lecture will be followed by a question-and-answer session with the audience which I will keep you posted about, also to tell you what themes we have dealt with, since it often happens that one question may unexpectedly give rise to a totally different discussion from what one has arranged.
