Fit For A Queen: Elizabeth II Loves Fancy Footwear (PHOTOS)

Who knew? WWD reports that Queen Elizabeth II was quite the Carrie Bradshaw in her day.

A little known fact about Queen Elizabeth II: she has exquisite taste in shoes. For her 1953 coronation, the monarch tapped French footwear maven Roger Vivier to construct a decadent, embroidered slipper with rubies.

So on Wednesday the company launched a collection of Elizabeth-inspired shoes and bags called A Princess to Be a Queen.

Which naturally made us curious about Her Majesty's footwear over the years. Although it's become more, shall we say, functional in her later years, here are a few of her most notable pairs. Or see a slideshow of the Queen's clothes through the years.
