Flavor Flav has once again landed back in headlines for his legal woes. However instead facing felony assault charges, the Rock & Roll Hall of Famer (born William Drayton) was reportedly arrested on Thursday for exceeding the speed limit with a suspended license en route to his mother, Anna Drayton’s funeral.

According to USA Today, the 54-year-old Public Enemy member was pulled over on Long Island’s Meadowbrook Parkway for driving 79 mph in a 55 mph zone -- in addition to possession of a small amount of marijuana and charged with felony aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle. Not to mention, authorities discovering that Flav had 16 current suspensions on his license.

Luckily for the rapper-turned-reality-star, police issued a desk appearance ticket in order for him to proceed to his mother’s funeral, who passed away on Dec. 31.

Upon discovering Ms. Drayton’s death, he took to his personal Twitter account to thank fans for their condolences.

Flavor Flav is ordered to appear in Nassau County First District Court on Jan. 28.
