Clint Eastwood’s tone-deaf comments about the “pussy generation” and Donald Trump’s racism didn’t sit well with many this week, including Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist Flea.

Flea, né Michael Peter Balzary, wasn’t happy with the 86-year-old’s Esquire interview, in which Eastwood said people should “just fucking get over” Trump’s racist remarks. The director also chided today’s “pussy generation” for “accusing people of being racist and all kinds of stuff.”

Flea happily accepted the callous label for one good reason:

Nailed it.

It shouldn’t be shocking that Eastwood, a man whose previous antics include rambling about Obama to an empty chair at the 2012 RNC, doesn’t totally “get” today’s concept of basic human decency. Considering Eastwood’s inclination to produce politically incorrect movies and his apparent lack of a filter, we’re almost surprised Trump didn’t consider him for his VP pick.

Editor’s note: Donald Trump regularly incites political violence and is a serial liar, rampant xenophobe, racist, misogynist and birther who has repeatedly pledged to ban all Muslims ― 1.6 billion members of an entire religion ― from entering the U.S.
