'Flintstones' Car Stolen From In Front Of Sacramento Comics Shop

The owner of a Sacramento comic book shop says some stone-cold crooks made off with a replica of Fred Flintstone's car that he'd parked in front of his store.

Dave Downey, who owns World's Best Comics, said that the replica car had been in front of the store for just two weeks, but it had already proven to be a hit with adults and kids alike.

“Kids loved it of course, but then again the adults loved it, too. Everyone remembers the ‘Flintstones,’” Downey told Fox 40 Sacramento.

Downey said he noticed it was gone on Sunday.

The car was not drivable, so the crooks that took it couldn't have hopped in and pedaled away like Fred and Wilma.

“It doesn’t roll. It was meant to float on water,” Downey told CBS Sacramento.

Downey said he doubts just one suspect would have been able to walk away with the bulky, 200-pound replica.

The "Flintmobile" has a wooden frame and two 55-gallon oil drums for wheels.

Downey is offering a no-questions-asked reward for the replica vehicle: a "six-pack of Cactus Cooler."
