Blind Dog Gets By With A Little Help From Best Pomeranian Friend

This is Hoshi, the American Eskimo dog, and his best tiny Pomeranian friend, Zen.

Hoshi was lucky to find a new pal after a surgery for glaucoma left him blind. It was certainly a rough patch for him, but the dogs soon became fast friends.

Pauline Perez, the pair’s mom, was “in love” from the moment she saw Zen, she told The Dodo. She adopted the Pomeranian shortly before Hoshi’s surgery.

“Little did we know the big role he would end up playing in Hoshi’s life,” Perez said.

Now the “Fluffy Duo” has adventures around their home in Washington state.

An open letter to @dogsthathike 💌 Dear @dogsthathike, My name is Hoshi and I am an active blind dog. My guiding light is Zen. We rescued him from a local shelter about 6 months before my surgery. He was with me throughout my journey to recovery and he continues to play a big role in my life. Together we love to explore the great outdoors. While I may not be able to see, I can still feel the trail under my paws, the wind around my fur, and Zen's leading tug on my harness. When we stop to take pictures, I know we reached something beautiful. I think we would be a pawsome #trailtester because we love going on adventures!
