Flying People Over New York Are Actually Publicity Stunt For 'Chronicle' (VIDEO)

WATCH: Flying 'People' Over NYC Actually A (Clever) Publicity Stunt

You're not crazy if you think you saw some people flying over the Manhattan skyline over the past couple weeks. 20th Century Fox hired ad firm Thinkmodo (who you may remember from iPad Head Girl) to launch some human-shaped, remote control aircraft over the city as a viral marketing campaign for the new movie "Chronicle."

Michael Krivicka from Thinkmodo explains:

"Since the three main characters of the movie have the ability to fly, we came up with the idea of staging a few "flying people" sightings around NYC. We achieved that illusion by having 3 custom-made aircraft (which were shaped like human beings) fly above designated areas in NYC and NJ."

Normally we don't care for these kind of publicity stunts, but this is awfully pretty, no one (yet) is making "Falling Man" comparisons, and lastly, we're impressed Thinkmodo eluded Ray Kelly's anti-aircraft capabilities.
