Food has always been one of the highlights of travel. Discovering new cuisines and taking a break from our everyday plates makes getting on a plane even more thrilling. But it wasn't often the point of travel -- at least not to the extent it is today.
Has discovering local cuisines and seeking out the best restaurants become the new "museum" of travel? Turns out, it just might be. Venngage -- the makers of this nifty chart below -- have found that in only a matter of seven years, travelers interested in new dining experiences rose by nine percent. That might not sound like a lot, but more than one percent a year is the sign of a trend.
